Getting the kids to the dentist office often takes a lot of haggling and sometimes a bit of incentive. At Bright Value Dental, we understand the struggle to get kids into the dental chair, which is why we ensure kids have a great time at our Bellaire dentist office.
Our pediatric dentists love working with children and helping them achieve the best oral health possible. We make certain that every child can grow up with clean strong teeth and gums.
Our Bright Value Dental dentists and dental hygienists believe in educating all of our young patients. We take the time to show them how to best take care of their teeth through brushing, flossing, rinsing, and consistently visiting the dentist.
It is very important for kids to understand how to take care of their teeth. If they conduct proper oral maintenance, this will ensure they won’t have dental problems down the road, like cavities or periodontal disease (gum disease).
HOW KIDS CAN BEST TAKE CARE OF THEIR TEETH
- MAKE ORAL MAINTENANCE FUN: We encourage parents to make dental maintenance as fun as possible. This means getting toothbrushes that kids will like. Choose their favorite characters, like those from Disney and Marvel.
- LET THE KIDS CHOOSE SOMETIMES: Leaving important choices up to the kids isn’t a wise path to success, BUT letting them choose the type of toothpaste or mouthwash they want is a good idea. This will encourage them to brush and rinse more frequently and will give them a sense of ownership for their oral health. Flavors that taste good is a good incentive for oral health maintenance.
- PROPER DENTAL TRAINING: Make sure kids are brushing at least twice per day and flossing once per day (preferably at night before going to bed). Show your child how to brush properly. Our dentists will help with that too. When parents and kids come to our Bellaire dental clinic, we take the time to answer every dental question they may have.
